Mental Math Games: A 60-Second Practice Round
Practice addition, subtraction and multiplication with quick math examples and a one-minute game.
Play nowHow the round works
Press Start, read the arithmetic question and type an answer. Use Check answer or Enter to submit. Correct answers add to your score and display a new question. The round ends after sixty seconds. Addition, subtraction and multiplication appear in the same session, so check the operation sign before calculating.
Make friendly numbers
For 19 + 8, move one unit from the eight to make 20 + 7, which is 27. For 52 − 19, subtract twenty and then add one back: 32 + 1 = 33. These are optional ways to reorganize a calculation. If a shortcut feels slower than your usual method, practice it without a timer first.
Split multiplication
Seven times six can be split into five times six plus two times six: 30 + 12 = 42. Nine times eight can be ten times eight minus eight: 80 − 8 = 72. Choose a split that uses facts you already know well. The goal is a correct answer, not a complicated mental trick.
Compare like with like
Try a few rounds using the same phone or keyboard so input speed is reasonably consistent. Accuracy matters more than repeatedly guessing. Each correct answer adds five rating points up to 100 after a completed round. The score is a game result, not an academic grade or standardized arithmetic test.
